On LUW and LWE engines, the Instrument Cluster monitors the odometer mileage to determine when a timing belt (if equipped) replacement may be necessary. After the vehicle has accumulated approximately 100, 000 miles (160, 000 kilometers), the Instrument Cluster may display the CHANGE TIMING BELT message.
