DTC TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURES

1	Was "Engine Basic Inspection" performed?	Go to Step 2.	Go to ENGINE BASIC INSPECTION .
2	Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?	Go to Step 3.	Go to ENGINE AND EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK .
3	DTC check Is there DTC(s) other than P050A?	Go to applicable DTC diag. flow.	Go to Step 4.
4	Air intake system check Check air intake system for clog and air inhabit. Is it in good condition?	Go to Step 5.	Repair or replace.
5	PCV system check Check PCV system parts or system. PCV valve: Refer to PCV VALVE INSPECTION . PCV hose: Refer to PCV HOSE INSPECTION . Are they in good condition?	Go to Step 6.	Repair or replace.
6	Exhaust system check Check exhaust system referring to EXHAUST SYSTEM CHECK . Is it OK?	Go to Step 7.	Repair or replace exhaust system.
7	Electric throttle body assembly check Check Electric throttle body assembly. Electric throttle actuator: refer to ELECTRIC THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION . TP sensor: refer to ELECTRIC THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION . Are they in good condition?	Go to Step 8.	Repair or replace.
8	ECT sensor circuit and performance check Check ECT sensor for circuit and performance referring to Step 3 and 4 of DTC P0116: ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE CIRCUIT RANGE / PERFORMANCE . Is it in good condition?	Go to Step 9.	Replace ECT sensor.
9	Ignition systems check Check ignition system parts or system. Ignition system: Refer to IGNITION SYSTEM CHECK . Ignition spark: Refer to IGNITION SPARK TEST . Ignition timing: Refer to IGNITION TIMING INSPECTION . Are they in good condition?	Go to Step 10.	Repair or replace.
10	EVAP system check Check EVAP system parts or system. EVAP canister purge: Refer to EVAP CANISTER PURGE SYSTEM INSPECTION . Vacuum hose and purge valve chamber: Refer to VACUUM HOSE AND PURGE VALVE CHAMBER INSPECTION . Are they in good condition?	Go to Step 11.	Repair or replace.
11	Engine mechanical systems check Check engine mechanical parts or system. Engine compression: Refer to COMPRESSION CHECK . Engine vacuum: Refer to ENGINE VACUUM CHECK . Valve lash: Refer to VALVE LASH (CLEARANCE) INSPECTION . Valve timing: Refer to 2ND TIMING CHAIN AND CHAIN TENSIONER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION and 1ST TIMING CHAIN AND CHAIN TENSIONER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . Are they in good condition?	Substitute a known-good ECM and recheck.	Repair or replace.
