DTC Troubleshooting

NOTE: Before this trouble shooting is performed, read the precautions for DTC troubleshooting referring to PRECAUTIONS FOR DTC TROUBLESHOOTING 
DTC TROUBLESHOOTING CHART

Step Action YES NO
1  Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to ENGINE AND EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK .
2  ECT sensor circuit and thermostat check 
  1. Check ECT sensor circuit and thermostat referring to Step 2 to 4 under "DTC TROUBLESHOOTING " in DTC P0116: ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE CIRCUIT RANGE / PERFORMANCE .

Is each result satisfied its specification? 		 Go to Step 3. Repair or replace defective part.
3  Wire harness check 
  1. Check ECT sensor referring to ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE (ECT) SENSOR INSPECTION .

Is check result as specified? 		 Go to Step 4. Replace ECT sensor.
4  IAT sensor circuit check 
  1. Check IAT sensor circuit referring to Step 2 under "DTC TROUBLESHOOTING " in DTC P0112 / P0113: INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT LOW / HIGH INPUT .

Is each result satisfied its specification? 		 Go to Step 5. Replace or replace defective wire harness.
5  IAT sensor performance check 
  1. Check IAT sensor referring to MASS AIR FLOW (MAF) AND INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE (IAT) SENSOR ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION .

Is check result as specified? 		 Substitute a known good ECM and recheck. Replace MAF and IAT sensor.
