ATEQ TPMS Reset Procedure
NOTE:
The TPM3 must be used with an SPX J-46079 or equivalent scan tool.
NOTE:
The tire pressure sensor must undergo the learn procedure after a tire pressure sensor or TPMS receiver replacement.
CAUTION:
If warning indicators are still on, there is a problem in the TPMS. See appropriate manufacturer service information.
The tire pressure sensors can be forced into learn mode using 3 methods; Delta Pressure Method, SPX TPMS Tool Method, and Low Frequency Tool Method.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Apply parking brake.
- Using a scan tool, follow the prompts and put the TPMS receiver into "LF TOOL".
- Within 2 minutes, trigger the left front tire pressure sensor to transmit a Learn-Mode-LF Trigger Message. Use one of the methods listed below to trigger the learn mode message.
- Delta Pressure: Increase or decrease by at least 1.2 psi, if the horn sounds the tire pressure sensor has been registered. Proceed to step 4.
- SPX J-46079 or equivalent scan tool: Hold the scan tool near the tire valve stem, until the horn sounds. Proceed to step 4.
- LF Tool: Hold the scan tool near the tire valve stem, until the horn sounds. Proceed to step 4.
- Repeat step 3 for the remaining tires. If the registration was a success, the horn will sound twice and the TPMS warning light will turn OFF.NOTE: Each tire pressure sensor should be registered in 2 minute intervals. If the 2 minute time frame is elapsed, the registration procedure will cancel and the procedure will have to be repeated.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Adjust all tire pressures to specification.
