Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the instrument panel cluster.
- Ignition OFF, test for less than 1 Ω of resistance between the ground circuit and ground.
- If greater than 1 Ω, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Connect a test lamp between the control circuit and the ground circuit.
- Turn the high beam headlamps ON and OFF. The test lamp should turn ON and OFF when changing between the commanded states.
- If the test lamp remains ON all the time, test for a short to voltage on the control circuit. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
- If the test lamp remains OFF all the time, test for a short to ground or an open/high resistance on the control circuit. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the instrument panel cluster.
