Circuit/System Testing
Hazard Switch Circuit Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the hazard switch terminal B.
- Test for less than 1 Ω of resistance between the ground circuit and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Verify the hazard lights are OFF.
- If the hazard lights are not OFF, test the signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the hazard flasher module.
- Install a 3-amp fused jumper wire between the hazard fuse signal circuit and one of the circuits for the hazard lamps. Verify the hazard lights are ON. Repeat for the opposite hazard lamp.
- If the hazard lights are not ON, test the signal circuit of the hazard switch for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the hazard switch.
