Installation Procedure

IMPORTANT: Install the oil pan within 5 minutes after applying the liquid gasket to the oil pan.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Install the oil pan retaining bolts.
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
Discard the used oil pan drain plug washer and replace it with a new one.
Install the grommet.

Install the bolt that secures the transaxle housing to the oil pan.
Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

Install the bolts that secure the oil pan to the transaxle housing.
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

Install the catalytic converters and the exhaust pipe as a unit.
Tighten:
- Tighten the nuts that secure the catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
- Tighten the exhaust pipe bracket bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
- Tighten the front muffler nuts to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

Connect the HO2S.
Install the right front splash shield.
Install the right front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
Connect the negative battery cable.
Refill the engine crankcase with engine oil.
