Circuit/System Verification

Verify that DTCs P0480 and P0481 are not set.
- If DTCs P0480 or P0481 are set, refer to DTC P0480 or P0481 .
Verify that the engine coolant level is correct.
- If the engine coolant is not at the correct level, refer to Loss of Coolant .
Verify that the engine coolant temperature is at normal operating temperature.
- If the engine coolant temperature is higher than the normal operating temperature, refer to Thermostat Diagnosis in Engine Cooling.
Verify the correct operation of the cooling fans. Refer to Symptoms - Engine Cooling .
- If the cooling fans are not operating correctly, refer to Symptoms - Engine Cooling .
Operate the vehicle within the conditions for running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records. DTC P0217 should not set.
If the vehicle passes the Circuit/System Verification test, then operate the vehicle within the conditions for running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that are captured in the Freeze Frame/Failure Records List.
