Instrument Panel Removal and Installation: Removal

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the steering column trim cover. Refer to STEERING COLUMN REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove the A-pillar trim panels. Refer to A-PILLAR TRIM PANEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Remove the floor console. Refer to FLOOR CONSOLE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Remove the sun sensor.
  6. Remove the center molding and the audio systems. Refer to STEREO CASSETTE AM / FM RADIO REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  7. Remove the instrument cluster dimmer switch assembly.
  8. Remove the instrument cluster trim panel. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Removal and Installation .
  9. Remove the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Removal and Installation .
  10. Remove the glove box and the glove box housing. Refer to Glove Box Removal and Installation .
  11. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to DRIVER'S SIDE KNEE BOLSTER REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  12. Remove the screws and the instrument panel side covers.
  13. Remove the screw and the instrument panel fuse block.

  14. Remove the nuts and the bolts securing the steering column.
  15. Disconnect the steering column electrical connector.
  16. Lower the steering column.

  17. Remove bolts and screws.
  18. Remove the connecting pieces.

  19. Remove the bolt securing the middle of the instrument panel to the body.

  20. Remove the instrument panel screws behind the glove box brace.

  21. Remove the bolts securing the sides of the instrument panel to body.
  22. Disconnect the instrument panel electrical connectors.
  23. Remove the instrument panel.
