Exhaust Manifold Removal And Installation: Removal

Right side exhaust manifold
- Remove battery and battery tray.
- Remove air cleaner assembly and air cleaner outlet hose.
- Remove A/F sensor connector (1) and HO2S-2 connector (2) from bracket, then disconnect them.
- Disconnect EGR pipe (3) from exhaust manifold.
- Remove exhaust manifold cover.
- Remove exhaust No. 1 pipe.
- Remove exhaust manifold stiffener (1).
- Remove exhaust manifold (1) and its gasket from cylinder head.
Left side exhaust manifold
- Release fuel pressure in fuel feed line referring to FUEL PRESSURE RELIEF PROCEDURE .
- Disconnect negative (-) cable at battery.
- Disconnect fuel feed hose (1) and fuel return hose (2).
- Disconnect brake booster hose (1), vacuum tank hose (2) and EVAP canister purge valve hose (3) from intake manifold and fuel No. 2 pipe (4).
- Disconnect vacuum hose from IMT valve, and remove vacuum tank assembly.
- Remove steering lower shaft assembly referring to STEERING UPPER SHAFT ASSEMBLY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Disconnect suction hose and discharge hose from A/C compressor referring to COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove oil filter referring to ENGINE OIL AND FILTER CHANGE .
- Remove A/F sensor connector (1) and HO2S-2 connector (2) from bracket, then disconnect them.
- Remove engine hook (1).
- Remove oil level gauge (2) and oil level gauge guide (3).
- Remove exhaust manifold cover (4).
- Remove exhaust No. 1 pipe.
- Remove exhaust manifold stiffener (1).
- Remove HO2S from exhaust manifold.
- Remove exhaust manifold (1) and its gasket from cylinder head.
