EVAP Canister Removal and Installation: Removal

Disconnect negative cable at battery.
Hoist vehicle.
Remove EVAP canister as follows.
- EVAP leak check model
  1. Remove EVAP canister bracket cover (1).
  2. Disconnect EVAP leak check module connector.
  3. Disconnect vapor control hose (2) from fuel tank and suction pipe No.1 (3) from suction pipe No.2 (10). For quick joint of hoses, disconnect it as follows:
    1. Remove mud or dust around joint by blowing compressed air, and push joint fully in arrow direction.
    2. Disconnect hose joint while joint lock is unlocked by pushing both sides of joint lock.
  4. Remove EVAP canister bracket (7) and cover (8) after removing bolts (4), (5) then (6).
  5. Disconnect purge pipe No.2 (9) from EVAP canister.
  6. Remove EVAP leak check module (11) referring to EVAP LEAK CHECK MODULE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION , if necessary.

- Non-EVAP-leak-check model
  1. Disconnect hoses (1) from EVAP canister (2).
  2. Remove EVAP canister bracket (3) with EVAP canister from vehicle body.
  3. Remove EVAP canister from EVAP canister bracket.
