Generator Dismounting and RemountingReference: Generator Unit Components
Dismounting
1. Disconnect negative (-) cable at battery.
2. Remove water pump and generator drive belt referring to Water Pump and Generator Drive Belt Removal and Installation.
3. Remove air cleaner case referring to Air Cleaner Assembly Removal and Installation.
4. Remove intake manifold referring to Intake Manifold Removal and Installation.
5. Remove P/S pump referring to P/S Pump Removal and Installation:Hydraulic Type.
6. Remove generator cover (1).
7. Disconnect "B" terminal wire (2) and coupler (3) from generator.
8. Remove generator mounting bolt (4) and generator pivot bolt (5) from generator.
9. Remove generator (6) from engine.
Remounting
Reverse dismounting procedure, noting the following.
^ Tighten each bolts and nuts to specified torque.
Tightening torque
"B" terminal nut a: 5 Nm (0.5 kg.m, 4.0 ft. lbs.)
Generator mounting bolt b: 25 Nm (2.5 kg.m, 18.5 ft. lbs.)
Generator pivot bolt c: 52.5 Nm (5.25 kg.m, 38.0 ft. lbs.)
