14. Differential to Left Case Assembly
Differential to Left Case Assembly1. Install differential assembly into right case.
2. Measure clearance "a" (between differential side face and side bearing outer race (2)) and "b" (bearing retainer (1)).
3. Select the shim.
Available differential bearing shim thickness 0.3 mm (0.011 inch) 0.69 mm (0.027 inch) 0.81 mm (0.031 inch) 0.6 mm (0.023 inch) 0.72 mm (0.028 inch) 0.84 mm (0.033 inch) 0.63 mm (0.024 inch) 0.75 mm (0.029 inch) 0.87 mm (0.034 inch) 0.66 mm (0.025 inch) 0.78 mm (0.030 inch)
4. Apply oil to O-ring and insert VSS (3), then tighten bolt.
Tightening torque
VSS bolt (a): 5.5 Nm (0.55 kgf-cm, 4.0 ft. lbs.)
