Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve Operation Check

IDLE AIR CONTROL (IAC) VALVE OPERATION CHECK

Using SUZUKI Scan Tool
1. Connect SUZUKI scan tool to DLC with ignition switch OFF.
2. Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
3. Clear DTC and select "MISC. TEST" mode on SUZUKI scan tool.
4. Check that idle speed increases and/or reduces when IAC valve is opened and/or when closed by SUZUKI scan tool.
If idle speed does not change, check IAC valve and wire harness.




Special Tool
(A): SUZUKI scan tool

Not Using SUZUKI Scan Tool

1. Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
2. Stop engine and then turn ON ignition switch.
3. Disconnect connector (1) from IAC valve (2).
4. Start engine.
5. Check that idle speed increases and/or reduces when connector (1) is connected to IAC valve (2).
If idle speed does not change, check IAC valve (2) and wire harness.




6. After checking the valve operation, clear DTC and pending DTC referring to DTC Clearance.
