DTC Troubleshooting

DTC TROUBLESHOOTING CHART

Step Action YES NO
Was "A/T System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to A/T SYSTEM CHECK .
Check engine torque signal circuit 
  1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
  2. Disconnect TCM and ECM connectors from TCM and ECM.
  3. Check proper connection to TCM at terminal "G07-23" and to ECM at terminal "G04-28".
  4. If connection is OK, turn ignition switch ON and measure voltage between terminal "G07-23" and ground.

Is it 10 - 14 V? 
"RED/WHT" circuit shorted to power circuit. Go to Step 3.
Check engine torque signal circuit for open 
  1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
  2. Check continuity between terminal "G07-23" of disconnected harness side TCM connector and terminal "G04-28" of disconnected harness side ECM connector.

Is continuity indicated? 
Go to Step 4. "RED/WHT" circuit open.
Check engine torque signal circuit for ground short 
  1. Check continuity between terminal "G07-23" of disconnected harness side TCM connector and ground.

Is continuity indicated? 
"RED/WHT" circuit shorted to ground Intermittent trouble or faulty TCM or ECM. Check for intermittent referring to INTERMITTENT AND POOR CONNECTION INSPECTION . If OK, substitute a known-good TCM or ECM and recheck.
