DTC Troubleshooting

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

Step Action YES NO
Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to ENGINE AND EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK .
Do you have SUZUKI scan tool?  Go to Step 3. Go to Step 4.
EVAP canister vent valve and its circuit check
  1. Check EVAP canister vent valve and its circuit referring to "EVAP Canister Vent Valve Circuit Check" under EVAP LEAK CHECK MODULE AND ITS CIRCUIT INSPECTION (VEHICLE WITH ORVR SYSTEM) .

Is check result satisfactory?
Intermittent trouble. Check for intermittent trouble referring to INTERMITTENT AND POOR CONNECTION INSPECTION . Go to Step 4.
EVAP canister vent valve power supply circuit check
  1. Disconnect EVAP leak check module coupler with ignition switch turned OFF.
  2. Check for proper connection to EVAP leak check module at "BLK/RED" and "BLU/WHT" wire terminals.
  3. Measure voltage between "BLK/RED" wire terminal of EVAP leak check module coupler and vehicle body ground with ignition switch turned ON.

Is voltage 10 - 14 V?
Go to Step 5. Faulty "BLK/RED" wire circuit.
EVAP canister vent valve ground circuit check
  1. Remove ECM cover and disconnect ECM couplers with ignition switch turned OFF.
  2. Check for proper connection to ECM at "G04-5" terminal.
  3. Measure resistance between "G04-5" terminal of ECM coupler and "BLU/WHT" wire terminal of EVAP leak check module coupler with ignition switch turned OFF.

Is resistance below 5 ohm?
Go to Step 6. Faulty "BLU/WHT" wire circuit.
EVAP canister vent valve check
  1. Check EVAP canister vent valve for operation referring to "EVAP Canister Vent Valve Check" under EVAP LEAK CHECK MODULE INSPECTION (VEHICLE WITH ORVR SYSTEM) .

Is check result satisfactory?
Substitute a known-good ECM and recheck. Replace EVAP leak check module.
