Exhaust Manifold Removal and Installation: Removal
WARNING:
To avoid danger of being burned, do not service exhaust system while it is still hot. Service should be performed after system cools down.
- Disconnect negative cable at battery.
- Disconnect heated oxygen sensor couplers (1) and A/C magnet clutch coupler (2).
- Remove exhaust manifold cover (3).
- Remove exhaust manifold to No.1 pipe nuts (1).
- Remove engine under cover (right side).
- Remove exhaust No.1 pipe stiffener (1).
- Remove exhaust No.1 pipe (2).
- Remove air cleaner outlet hose and air cleaner case assembly.
- Release wire harness clamp (1).
- Support engine with engine support jack and remove engine right mounting No.1 bracket (2).
- Remove engine right mounting bracket (1).
- Remove exhaust manifold (1) and its gasket (2) from cylinder head.NOTE: Be careful not to damage fins of radiator.
