Front Drive Shaft Assembly Removal and Installation: Removal
- Disengage caulk ("A") and remove drive shaft nut (1) and washer.
- Hoist vehicle.
- Remove wheel.
- Drain transaxle oil.
- Remove tie rod end split pin (1) and castle nut (2).
- Disconnect tie rod end (3) from steering knuckle (4) by using special tool.
Special Tool

- Using plastic hammer (2), drive out drive shaft joint (1) so as to release snap ring fitting of joint spline at center shaft.
- Disconnect front suspension control arm ball stud (1) from steering knuckle (2) after removing ball stud bolt (3) and nut.
- Remove drive shaft assembly.CAUTION: To prevent damage of boots, be careful not to contact them with other parts when removing drive shaft assembly.
- Remove center shaft support bolts (3) and remove center shaft support (2) with center shaft (1) from differential side gear shaft (if equipped).
