Front Drive Shaft Construction

A ball fixed type constant velocity joint is used on the wheel side of front drive shaft. For A/T vehicle, a tripod type constant velocity joint is used on the differential side, transfer and center shaft side. For M/T vehicle, a double offset type constant velocity joint (DOJ) is used on the differential and center shaft side. The drive shaft can slide through the tripod joint or the double offset joint in the extension / contraction direction.
