DTC Troubleshooting

DTC DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLESHOOTING CHART

Step Action YES NO
Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to ENGINE AND EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK .
Knock sensor and its circuit check 
  1. Remove ECM cover.
  2. With engine running, measure voltage from "C51-3-3" terminal of ECM connector to body ground.

Is voltage about 0.90 - 3.98 V? 
Knock sensor and its circuit are in good condition. Intermittent trouble or faulty ECM.
Recheck, referring to INTERMITTENT AND POOR CONNECTION INSPECTION .
Go to Step 3.
Knock sensor power source circuit check 
  1. Stop engine.
  2. With ignition switch at OFF position, disconnect knock sensor connector.
  3. With ignition switch at ON position, measure voltage between "WHT" wire terminal of knock sensor connector and body ground.

Is it 4 - 5 V? 
Substitute a known-good knock sensor and recheck. "WHT" circuit wire is open, shorted to ground or poor connection at "C51-3-3" terminal. If wire and connection are OK, substitute a known-good substitute a known-good ECM and recheck.
