DTC Troubleshooting

DTC DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLESHOOTING CHART

Step Action YES NO
Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to ENGINE AND EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK .
Is DTC P0107 or P0108 indicated?  Go to DTC P0107 / P0108: Manifold Absolute Pressure Circuit Low Input / High Input . Go to Step 3.
MAP sensor power supply voltage check
  1. Disconnect connector from MAP sensor with ignition switch turned OFF.
  2. Check for proper connection of MAP sensor connector at "GRY/RED", "GRY/YEL" and "RED/WHT" wire terminals.
  3. If OK, with ignition switch turned ON, measure voltage between engine ground and "GRY/RED" wire terminal of MAP sensor connector.

Is voltage 4 - 5 V?
Go to Step 4. "GRY/RED" wire is shorted to other circuit.
MAP sensor signal check
  1. Disconnect connectors from ECM with ignition switch turned OFF.
  2. Check for proper connection of ECM connector at "C51-3-8", "C51-3-14" and "C51-3-25" terminal.
  3. If OK, measure resistance between "C51-3-8" terminal of ECM connector and "RED/WHT" wire terminal of MAP sensor connector.

Is resistance below 5 Ω?
Go to Step 5. High resistance wire in "RED/WHT" circuit.
MAP sensor ground circuit check
  1. Measure resistance between "C51-3-25" terminal of ECM connector and "GRY/YEL" wire terminal of MAP sensor connector.

Is resistance below 5 Ω?
Go to Step 6. High resistance wire in "GRY/YEL" circuit.
MAP sensor signal check
  1. Measure resistance between "C51-3-14" terminal of ECM connector and "GRY/RED" wire terminal of MAP sensor connector.

Is resistance below 5 Ω?
Go to Step 7. High resistance wire in "GRY/RED" circuit.
MAP sensor signal check
  1. With ignition switch turned ON.
  2. Measure voltage between engine ground and "RED/WHT" wire terminal of MAP sensor connector.

Is voltage 0 V?
Go to Step 8. "RED/WHT" wire shorted to other circuits.
MAP sensor check
  1. Check MAP sensor referring to MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE (MAP) SENSOR INSPECTION .

Is it in good condition?
Substitute a known-good ECM and recheck. Faulty MAP sensor.
