DTC DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLESHOOTING CHART

Step Action YES NO
Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to ENGINE AND EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK .
CKP sensor and its circuit resistance check
  1. Remove ECM cover.
  2. With ignition switch turned OFF, disconnect ECM coupler ("C51-2").
  3. Check for proper connection to ECM at "C51-2-19" and "C51-2-20" terminals.
  4. If OK, measure resistance of the followings.

    CKP sensor resistance

    Between "C51-2-19" and "C51-2-20" terminals: 485 - 655 Ω at 20 °C (68 °F)

    CKP sensor resistance

between each terminal and ground: 1 MΩ or more

Is measure result satisfactory?
Go to Step 4. Go to Step 3.
CKP sensor resistance check
  1. With ignition switch turned OFF, disconnect CKP sensor coupler.
  2. Measure resistance between terminals of CKP sensor coupler.

Were measured resistance values as specified in Step 2?
Faulty "WHT/BLU" wire or "ORN/BLU" wire. Faulty CKP sensor.
CKP sensor visual inspection
  1. Check visually CKP sensor and sensor plate (1) for the followings.
    • Damage
    • No foreign material attached
    • Correct installation
