This bulletin has been updated to include a second location that the DRL module can be found.
CONDITION
Affected vehicles may generate heat in the DRL Module which could melt the Module. If the heat generated within the DRL Module melts the component, there is an increased risk of a fire.
CAUSE
Suzuki has determined that certain 2004~2006 Suzuki Verona vehicles may generate excessive heat in the DRL Module.
CORRECTION
Authorized Suzuki Service Providers will replace the DRL Module. This repair will be at no charge to the Owner on affected vehicles.

DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT (DRL) MODULE REPLACEMENT
NOTE:
Radios (Verona Model Year 2004) with an Anti-Theft Function enabled will become inoperable when battery power is removed.
Before beginning these service procedures, if the radio has an Anti-Theft function, have the vehicle owner provide their Radio Anti-Theft Code to ensure continued radio operation.

- Record the radio presets then turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position and remove the key.
- Disconnect the battery negative (-) cable and wait at least 90 seconds for the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) to discharge before proceeding.
- The location of the DRL module will be in one of two places:
- With Auto A/C Controls: Behind the ash tray assembly and below the radio. Go to step 4.
or
- With Manual A/C Controls: Above the Data Link Connector (DLC). Go to Step 9.
With Auto A/C Controls:
- With Auto A/C Controls: Behind the ash tray assembly and below the radio. Go to step 4.
- Remove the shift lever trim and center console storage box. Then remove three screws; two from the console trim bezel under the storage box and one from the cup holder. Remove the console bezel.
- Remove the radio trim bezel and the two bolts holding the radio, and remove the radio.
- Remove the two screws holding the ash tray assembly and remove the assembly to access the DRL module.
- Remove the two screws holding the DRL module in place and disconnect it from its electrical connector.NOTE: The screws are accessible from the underside of the cross brace.
- Go to Step 10.
With Manual A/C Controls:
- Remove the instrument panel Lower Cover and Knee Bolster. Then remove the screws holding the DRL module in place and disconnect it from its electrical connector.
- Connect the new DRL Module to its connector. Do not fasten the module to the bracket at this time.
- Connect the Battery. Confirm DRL functions, then disconnect the battery.
DRL Normal Functions:
- DRLs should be ON when the Ignition is ON and the Park Brake is NOT APPLIED.
- Instrument Panel DRL Icon should be ON when DRLs are ON.
- DRLs should be OFF when the Headlamps are ON.
- DRLs should be OFF when the Park Brake is APPLIED.
- Secure the Module in place.
Tighten: 2.5 N-m (22 lb-in)
- Reassemble the remaining parts in the reverse order of disassembly.
Tighten Knee Bolster: 10 N-m (89 lb-in)
Tighten Radio Bolts: 4 N-m (35 lb-in)
- Connect the battery (-) cable and if necessary, enter the vehicle owner's radio presets previously recorded.NOTE: A 2004 Verona will require the Radio Unlock Code. Contact the Suzuki Automotive Technical Hotline at (800) 934-1616 if you require the code. Please provide the 2 digit ID Tracking number off the top of the radio when you call.
