Tire Pressure Monitor Warning Light

NOTE: The warning light may come on due to normal causes such as natural air leaks and pressure changes caused by changes in termperature or atmospheric pressure.
NOTE: In high altitude areas, the warning light may not turn off even after adjusting tire pressures. In this case, adjust inflation pressure to a slightly higher pressure than specified.

When system detects low tire pressure, the low tire pressure warning light will illuminate. The warning light comes on and blinks during certain types of system malfunctions, but will reset when engine is turned off. When engine is restarted, it will take about 10 minutes for TPM system to detect malfunction again and illuminate warning light.

When tire pressure warning light illuminates, immediately check air pressure of all tires and adjust to the specified pressure. If warning light is still on, repair flat tire. If warning light is flashing, ensure TPM system sensors are registered. Drive vehicle for a few minutes to ensure that warning light goes out.

If warning light is still on or flashing after adjusting tire pressure and registering system sensors, there is a problem in the TPM system. See appropriate manufacturer service information.
