DTC Troubleshooting

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Suzuki XL-7. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
TEST PROCEDURE - SERIAL COMMUNICATION PROBLEM BETWEEN OCM AND SDM

Step Action YES NO
  1. With ignition switch OFF, connect scan tool to DLC.
  2. Turn ON ignition switch.
  3. Check for OCM DTC displayed on scan tool.

Is DTC B1211 indicated?
Go to Step 2. Intermittent trouble. Check for intermittent trouble referring to INSPECTION OF INTERMITTENT AND POOR CONNECTIONS .
  1. With ignition switch OFF, disconnect connectors from OCM and SDM.
  2. Check for proper connection of OCM connector and seat controller harness connector "L64" at "BLU/RED" wire terminal and "BLK" wire terminal.
  3. Measure resistance between "L66-8" terminal of OCM connector and vehicle body ground, between "L66-4" terminal of OCM connector and vehicle body ground.

Is each measured resistance 1 Ω or less?
Go to Step 3. "RED" circuit (in instrument panel and floor harness), "BLU/RED" circuit (in passenger seat harness), "RED/WHT" circuit (in instrument panel and floor harness) or "BLK" circuit (in passenger seat harness) shorted to ground.
  1. Measure voltage between "L66-8" terminal of OCM connector and vehicle body ground, between "L66-4" terminal of OCM connector and vehicle body ground.

With ignition switch ON, is each measured value 1 V or less?
Go to Step 4. "RED" circuit (in instrument panel and floor harness), "BLU/RED" circuit (in passenger seat harness), "RED/WHT" circuit (in instrument panel and floor harness) or "BLK" circuit (in passenger seat harness) shorted to power supply circuit.
  1. With ignition switch OFF, disconnect connectors from OCM and SDM.
  2. Using service wire, connect "L66-4" and "L66-8" terminals of OCM connector.
  3. Measure resistance between "G92-3" terminal and "G92-10" terminal of SDM connector.
