DTC Troubleshooting

TEST PROCEDURE - SEAT POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION

Is DTC B1202 indicated? |
Go to Step 2. | Intermittent trouble. Check for intermittent trouble referring to INSPECTION OF INTERMITTENT AND POOR CONNECTIONS . |

Is check result satisfactory? |
Substitute a known-good OCM and recheck. | Go to Step 3. |

With ignition switch ON, is each measured value 1 V or less? |
Go to Step 4. | "BRN/YEL" circuit or "BLK" circuit shorted to power supply circuit. |

Is resistance infinity? |
Go to Step 5. | "BRN/YEL" circuit or "BLK" circuit shorted to ground. |

Is resistance 1 Ω or less? |
Faulty passenger seat position sensor. Replace passenger seat position sensor referring to SEAT POSITION SENSOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . | High resistance or open wire in "BRN/YEL" circuit or "BLK" circuit. |
NOTE:
Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform the following items.
- Reconnect all air bag system components and ensure all components are properly mounted.
- Clear DTCs referring to DTC CLEARANCE FOR SDM and DTC CLEARANCE FOR OCM , if any.
- Repeat AIR BAG DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK to confirm that the trouble has been corrected.
- Perform occupant classification system rezeroing referring to OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM REZEROING .
- Perform occupant classification system sensitivity check referring to OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM SENSITIVITY CHECK after system rezeroing.
