Temperature Control Actuator Inspection

  1. Remove temperature control actuator. Refer to TEMPERATURE CONTROL ACTUATOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  2. Check resistance between terminals.

    Temperature control actuator resistance 

    Terminal "d" and "e" (max cold position): Approx. 150 - 250 Ω 

    Terminal "c" and "d" (max cold position): Approx. 2.6 kΩ 

    Terminal "d" and "e" (max hot position): Approx. 2.6 kΩ 

    Terminal "c" and "d" (max hot position): Approx. 150 - 250 Ω 

  3. Connect battery positive (+) terminal to terminal "b" and battery negative (-) terminal to terminal "a". Check if position of temperature control actuator changes COLD to HOT.
  4. Connect battery positive (+) terminal to terminal "a" and battery positive (-) terminal to terminal "b". Check if position of temperature control actuator changes HOT to COLD.

    If malfunction is found, replace temperature control actuator with new one.
