System Description / Monitoring Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Suzuki XL-7. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The OBD-II system should detect a malfunction of the PCV system when a disconnection of the system occurs between either the crankcase and the PCV valve, or between the PCV valve and the intake manifold.

It does not stall for a while at the cold start condition when a disconnection hose between the PCV valve and the intake manifold. However, it stalls almost at a engine warm up condition.

Therefore, the regulations is satisfied, because the malfunction will be detected by the conventional diagnoses or engine stalls.
