DTC Troubleshooting

DTC TROUBLESHOOTING CHART

Step	Action	YES	NO
1	Was "4WD control system check" performed?	Go to Step 2.	Go to 4WD Control System Check .
2	"4L" switch circuit check Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect 2WD/4WD switch connector "G88". Check for proper connection to 2WD/4WD switch at terminals "G88-3" and "G88-4". If OK, then measure voltage between "G88-3" terminal of 2WD/4WD switch connector and body ground with ignition switch turned to ON position. Is it 10 V or more?	Go to Step 3.	Go to Step 4.
3	"4L" switch circuit check Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Measure voltage between "G88-3" and "G88-4" terminals of 2WD/4WD switch connector with ignition switch turned to ON position. Is it 10 V or more?	Go to Step 5.	"BLK" wire is open or high resistance.
4	"4L" switch circuit check Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect 4WD control module connector "E23". Check for proper connection to 4WD control module at terminal "E23-6". If OK, then measure resistance between "G88-3" terminal of 2WD/4WD switch connector and "E23-6" terminal of 4WD control module connector. Is it 1 Ω or less?	Substitute a known-good 4WD control module and recheck.	"GRN" wire is open or high resistance.
5	"4L" switch check Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Check "4L" switch referring to 2WD/4WD SWITCH INSPECTION . Is it in good condition?	Substitute a known-good 4WD control module and recheck.	Faulty "4L" switch. Replace 2WD/4WD switch.
