Installation Procedure

Fig 1: Tie Rod Lock Nuts & Outer Tie Rod

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Install the outer tie rod with the lock nuts.
Tighten: Tighten the lock nuts to 54 N.m (40 lb ft).

Install the outer tie rod with the hex nut.
Tighten: Tighten the hex nut to 45 N.m (33 lb ft).
Inspect the vehicle. Refer to Preliminary Alignment Inspection and Straight Ahead Inspection .
Measure the wheel alignment.
If necessary, adjust the front toe. Refer to Front Toe Adjustment .
