Maintenance Schedule (European Emissions): Footnotes

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency or the California Air Resources Board has determined that the failure to perform this maintenance will not nullify the emission warranty or limit recall liability prior to the completion of the vehicles useful life. We, however, urge that all recommended maintenance services be performed at the indicated intervals and the maintenance be recorded.

(1) Inspect every 3 000 km (1,900 mi) and replenish engine oil. If the vehicle is operated under severe conditions: short distance driving, extensive idling or driving in dusty conditions, change engine oil every 5 000 km (3,100 mi) or 3 months, whichever comes first.

(2) More frequent maintenance is required if driving in dusty conditions.

(3) Refer to Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations .

(4) Change the brake fluid every 15 000 km (9,000 mi) if the vehicle is mainly driven under severe conditions: driving in hilly or mountainous terrain.

(5) More frequent maintenance is required if used under severe conditions: short distance driving, extended idling, frequent low speed operation in stop-start traffic or driving in dusty conditions.

(6) Rotate and balance wheels, if necessary.

(7) Check the brakes during tire rotation

(8) Inspect every 5 000 km (3,000 mi)

(9) Rotate every 5 000 km (3,000 mi)

(10) Inspect when abnormal condition is noted.
