Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Suzuki Swift +, 2008 Pontiac Wave, and 2008 Chevrolet Aveo. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- If any other indicators are inoperative, refer to Symptoms - Displays and Gages .
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the ECM harness connector.
- MR 140 controller terminal K64
- MT 34 controller terminal C49
- Ignition ON, connect a 3A fused jumper wire between the MIL control circuit terminal C49 and ground. The MIL should illuminate.
- If the MIL does not illuminate, test the MIL control circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the driver information center (DIC)/clock.
- If the fuse opens, repair the MIL control circuit for a short to voltage.
- If the MIL illuminates, inspect for a poor connection or replace the control module.
