Circuit/System Verification
- Ignition ON, observe the Vehicle Information under I/M System Information on the scan tool. The VIN information should match the vehicles VIN.
- If a VIN is not displayed, program the VIN with a scan tool.
- If the vehicle passes the Circuit/System Verification Test, then operate the vehicle within the conditions for running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that are captured in the Freeze Frame/Failure Records List.
IMPORTANT:
The ECM cannot determine if the VIN programmed into the control module is valid. Always verify that the VIN displayed on the scan tool is correct for that vehicle.
