Installation Procedure

  1. Install the starter to the engine.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the starter mounting bolts and starter solenoid nut.

    Tighten: 

    • Tighten the starter mounting bolts to 23 N.m (17 lb ft).
    • Tighten the starter solenoid nut to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

  3. Install the ground bolt (3).

    Tighten:  Tighten the ground bolt to 41 N.m (30 lb ft).

  4. Install the harness clip bolt (4).

    Tighten:  Tighten the harness clip bolt to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

  5. Connect the engine oil temperature sensor connector (2).
  6. Connect the negative battery cable.
