Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Removal and Installation: Removal

Relieve the coolant system pressure.
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor connector.
CAUTION: Take care when handling the engine coolant temperature sensor. Damage to the sensor will affect the proper operation of the fuel injection system.
Remove the ECT sensor from the electronic ignition (EI) system ignition coil adapter.
