DTC Troubleshooting

DTC TROUBLESHOOTING

Step Action YES NO
Was "Air Bag Diagnostic System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to AIR BAG DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK:ADVANCED AIR BAG .
  1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
  2. Disconnect SDM connector "L33" and seat belt buckle sensor connector "L58" or "L60".
  3. Check proper connection to SDM connector at terminals "L33-20" and "L33-21" (for DTC B1383), or terminals "L33-22" and "L33-23" (for DTC B1386).
  4. Check proper connection to seat belt buckle sensor connector at terminals "L58-1" and "L58- 2" or "L60-1" and "L60-2".
  5. If OK, then measure resistance between "L33- 20" terminal and body ground, "L33-21" terminal and body ground (for DTC B1383), or between "L33-22" terminal and body ground, "L33-23" terminal and body ground (for DTC B1386).

Is each measured resistance infinity? 
Go to Step 3. For DTC B1383: "RED/BLU" circuit or "RED/BLK" circuit shorted to ground. For DTC B1386: "WHT/BLU" circuit or "WHT/BLK" circuit shorted to ground.
  1. Check seat belt buckle sensor referring to FRONT SEAT BELT INSPECTION .
Is it in good condition? 
Substitute a known-good SDM and recheck. Replace seat belt buckle sensor referring to FRONT SEAT BELT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . If DTC still exists, substitute a known-good SDM and recheck.
NOTE: Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform the following items.
