DTC TROUBLESHOOTING

Step Action YES NO
1  Was "Air Bag Diagnostic System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to AIR BAG DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK:ADVANCED AIR BAG .

  1. Disconnect SDM connector "L33" and OCM connector "L78".
  2. Check proper connection to SDM at terminal "L33-17" and OCM connector at terminal "L78-3".
  3. Check OCM-SDM serial communication circuit between "L33-17" and "L78-3" for open, short and high resistance.

Is it in good condition? 		 Go to Step 3. Repair "RED/GRN" circuit.

  1. Measure voltage between "L78-1" and body ground.

With ignition switch ON, Is voltage in 9 - 16V? 		 Go to Step 4. Repair "RED" circuit.

  1. Measure resistance between "L78-2" and body ground.

Is continuity indicated? 		 Substitute a known-good SDM and recheck. If DTC is still indicated, substitute a known-good OCM and recheck. High resistance or open circuit in "BLK" circuit.
NOTE: Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform the following items.
