Emissions Maintenance Reminder Reset - Procedure 02

  1. CHECK ENGINE light will stay lit at 50,000, 80,000 and 100,000 miles to indicate emission system maintenance is required.
  2. At 50,000 miles, replace PCV valve and inspect EGR system. At 80,000 miles, replace O2S sensor. At 100,000 miles, replace charcoal canister.
  3. After servicing and/or replacing components, reset CHECK ENGINE light by sliding cancel switch to its opposite position. The 3-wire cancel switch is located on main wiring harness. On models with Throttle Body Injection (TBI), see Figure. On 1992 models with Port Fuel Injection (PFI), 1993 models with Multi-Port Injection (MPI) and 1994 models with Multi-Fuel Injection (MFI), see Fig 1.
