Tire Pressure Sensor: Removal
- Raise vehicle on a suitable support. Remove tire/wheel assembly from vehicle.
- Release air from tire by removing valve core.
- Remove mounting nut from wheel, and drop tire pressure sensor into tire before detaching tire bead from wheel. See Fig 1.
- Dismount tire from wheel following tire changer manufacturer's instructions, while noting the following:
- Do not use hand tools or tire irons alone to change tires as they may damage tire beads or wheel rim.
- Rim bead seats should be cleaned with wire brush or coarse steel wool to remove lubricants, old rubber and light rust. Before mounting or dismounting tire, bead area should be well lubricated with approved tire lubricant.
- Remove tire pressure sensor.
