Emissions Maintenance Reminder Reset - Procedure 03

  1. CHECK ENGINE light will stay lit at 50,000, 80,000 and 100,000 miles to indicate emission system maintenance is required.
  2. At 50,000 miles, replace PCV valve and inspect EGR system. At 80,000 miles, replace O2S sensor. At 100,000 miles, replace PCV valve and charcoal canister, and inspect catalytic converter (for plugging), EGR system and related sensors.
  3. After servicing and/or replacing components, reset CHECK ENGINE light by sliding cancel switch to its opposite position. The 3-wire cancel switch is located on main wiring harness. On models with throttle body injection (TBI), see Figure. On models with multi-fuel injection (MFI), see Figure.
