DTC Troubleshooting

NOTE: Before this trouble shooting is performed, read the precautions for DTC troubleshooting referring to PRECAUTIONS FOR DTC TROUBLESHOOTING .
DTC TROUBLESHOOTING CHART

Step Action YES NO
Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to ENGINE AND EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK .
Wire harness check
  1. Disconnect connectors from EVAP leak check module and ECM with ignition switch turned OFF.
  2. Check for proper terminal connection to EVAP leak module and ECM connectors.
  3. If connections are OK, check EVAP leak detection pump circuit is as follows.
    • Wiring harness resistance of each EVAP leak detection pump control and ground circuits is less than 3Ω
    • Insulation resistance of EVAP leak detection pump control circuit is infinity between EVAP leak check module connector and vehicle body ground
    • Insulation resistance of wire harness is infinity between EVAP leak detection pump control terminal and each other terminal at EVAP leak module connector
    • Circuit voltage of EVAP leak detection pump control circuit is 0 - 1 V with ignition switch turned ON

Are they in good condition?
Go to Step 3. Repair or replace control and ground circuits of EVAP leak detection pump.
EVAP leak detecting pump check
  1. Check EVAP leak detecting pump for operation referring to "EVAP Leak Detecting Pump Check" under EVAP LEAK CHECK MODULE INSPECTION .

Is it in good condition?
Substitute a known-good ECM and recheck. Replace EVAP leak check module.
