Remote Audio Control Switch Inspection

Reference: REMOTE AUDIO CONTROL SWITCH REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION 

1. Remove driver air bag (inflator) module. Refer to DRIVER AIR BAG (INFLATOR) MODULE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION (ADVANCED AIR BAG) or DRIVER AIR BAG (INFLATOR) MODULE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION (EXCEPT ADVANCED AIR BAG) .
2. Disconnect remote audio control switch connector from contact coil.
3. Check switch for resistance between "a" and "b" terminals under each condition below.

   If check result is not satisfactory, replace remote audio control switch.

   "ENTER", "+" and "-" switch resistance 

   All switches released (OFF): 4700 - 5600 kΩ 

   "ENTER" switch (1) pushing on (ON): 50 - 60 Ω 

   "+" switch (2) pushing on (ON): 120 - 140 Ω 

   "-" switch (3) pushing on (ON): 220 - 260 Ω 

4. Check switch for resistance between "a" and "b" terminals under each condition below.

   If check result is not satisfactory, replace remote audio control switch.

   "MODE", and switch resistance 

   All switches released (OFF): 4700 - 5600 kΩ 

   "MODE" switch (4) pushing on (ON): 370 - 460 Ω 

   switch (5) pushing on (ON): 680 - 820 Ω 

   switch (6) pushing on (ON): 1400 - 1700 Ω
