DRL System Circuit Inspection

  1. Disconnect negative (-) cable at battery.
  2. Remove glove box (1) from instrument panel (2) as shown.
  3. Disconnect DRL connector (3).

  4. Connect negative (-) cable at battery.
  5. Check that voltage and resistance between the following terminals and body ground are specifications under each conditions. If check result is OK, replace DRL controller. If check result is not as specified, repair circuit.

VOLTAGE AND RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

Terminal Wire Circuit Specification Condition
G57-1 RED/WHT Head lamp circuit 0 - 1 V Fulfill the following conditions:
  • Lighting switch is HEAD position.
  • Dimmer switch is HI position.
10 - 14 V Except above-mentioned condition.
G57-2 GRN/BLK DRL indicator lamp circuit 10 - 14 V Ignition switch is ON position.
0 - 1 V Ignition switch is OFF position.
G57-3 BLK/RED Parking brake switch circuit Continuity Parking brake is applying position.
No continuity Parking brake is release position.
G57-4 WHT/BLU Engine running monitor circuit 0 - 1 V Engine is stop.
10 - 14 V Engine is running
G57-5 BLK/WHT Main power supply 10 - 14 V Ignition switch is ON position.
0 - 1 V Ignition switch is OFF position.
G57-7 BLK Ground Continuity -
G57-8 RED/BLK Brake indicator circuit 10 - 14 V Ignition switch is ON position.
0 - 1 V Ignition switch is OFF position.
G57-9 PNK/BLU Lighting switch position circuit 0 - 1 V Lighting switch is HEAD position.
10 - 14 V Lighting switch is OFF or CLEARANCE position.
