Occupant Classification System Rezeroing

  1. Set front passenger seat position as follows.
    1. Install headrest to seat back.
    2. Position seat back into upright position locked (1).
    3. Move seat assembly to full backward position locked (2).

  2. Confirm that passenger seat assembly is not contacting other parts.
  3. Connect scan tool to DLC with ignition switch OFF.
  4. Turn ON ignition switch.
  5. Select "Misc Test" mode on scan tool.
  6. Perform "System rezero setting" on scan tool.

    If it is not possible, adjust the installation condition of passenger seat assembly as follows.

    1. Loosen passenger seat assembly mount bolts and move seat to back and forth.
    2. Tighten passenger seat assembly mount bolts to specified torque referring to FRONT SEAT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION: SEDAN .
    3. Take the passenger seat a few times.
    4. Perform "System rezero setting" on scan tool.

      If it is not possible, repeat Step  a) to  d) a few times and if it is not possible yet, go to next step.

  7. Remove passenger seat assembly and check that there is not foreign substance attached to mating surfaces of seat adjuster and vehicle floor panel.
  8. Install passenger seat assembly and repeat Step  6).
  9. Replace passenger seat adjuster including weight sensors and perform Step  6).
  10. Confirm distortion of passenger seat assembly installation portion of vehicle floor panel.
