DTC Troubleshooting

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

Step Action YES NO
1  Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to ENGINE AND EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK .
2  Fuel filler cap check 
  1. Check the fuel filler cap gasket for uneven filler neck imprint, foreign material pinched, and damage.
  2. Check if the fuel filler cap is the Suzuki genuine parts.

Is the result satisfactory? 		 Go to Step 3. Replace the fuel filler cap with new genuine one.
3  Pressurization test 
  1. Perform the pressurization test referring to EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM LEAK INSPECTION (VEHICLE WITH ORVR SYSTEM) .

Is any leak detected? 		 Go to Step 4. Go to Step 7.
4  Leak check 
  1. Perform the pressurization test referring to EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM SMOKE TEST .

Is there any leak part? 		 Repair or replace the leak part and then go to Step 3 once again. Go to Step 5.
5  EVAP canister purge valve check 
  1. Check EVAP canister purge valve referring to EVAP CANISTER PURGE VALVE INSPECTION .

Is the result satisfactory? 		 Go to Step 6. Replace EVAP canister purge valve.
6  EVAP canister vent valve and EVAP leak check pressure sensor check 
  1. Check EVAP canister vent valve and EVAP leak check pressure sensor in EVAP leak check module referring to EVAP LEAK CHECK MODULE INSPECTION (VEHICLE WITH ORVR SYSTEM) .

Is check result satisfactory? 		 Return to Step 3. Replace EVAP leak check module.
7  EVAP canister vent valve and EVAP leak check pressure sensor check 
  1. Check EVAP canister vent valve and EVAP leak check pressure sensor in EVAP leak check module referring to EVAP LEAK CHECK MODULE INSPECTION (VEHICLE WITH ORVR SYSTEM) .

Is check result satisfactory? 		 Go to Step 8. Replace EVAP leak check module.
8  Fuel level sensor and its circuit check 
  1. Check fuel level sensor and its circuit referring to DTC P0461: FUEL LEVEL SENSOR CIRCUIT RANGE / PERFORMANCE .

Are they in good condition? 		 Go to Step 9. Repair or replace malfunction part.
9  EVAP leak check 
  1. Replace EVAP leak check module.
  2. Connect scan tool to DLC and clear DTC.
  3. Run engine at idle for 10 minutes.
  4. Confirm that DTC is no detected.
  5. Turn ignition switch to OFF position and leave for 6 hours.
  6. Recheck DTC.

Is DTC P0456 detected? 		 Substitute a known-good ECM and recheck. End.
