Cruise ON/OFF, Set/Coast, Resume/Accel and Cancel Switches Circuits Check

CRUISE ON/OFF STEP ACTION REFERENCE

Step Action YES NO
Set/coast, resume/accel and cancel switches circuit check 
  1. Disconnect connector from cruise control module with ignition switch OFF.
  2. Check for proper connection to cruise control module at terminal "E52-8".
  3. If OK, check resistance between terminal "E52-8" and "E52-5" under each condition as follows.

Switch circuit specification (resistance) 
All switches OFF: Infinity 
SET/COAST switch moved down (ON) (1): 217 - 223 Ω 
RESUME/ACCEL switch moved up (ON) (2): 900 - 920 Ω 
CANCEL switch pulled (ON) (3): About 0 Ω

Are check results satisfactory? 
Go to Step 3. Go to Step 2.
Set/coast, resume/accel and cancel switches check 
  1. Check Set/Coast, Resume/Accel and Cancel Switches referring to CRUISE ON/OFF, SET/COAST, RESUME/ACCEL AND CANCEL SWITCHES INSPECTION .

Is switch in good condition 
"BLK/YEL" circuit, "LT GRN" circuit or contact coil is open or short. Replace cruise control lever.
Cruise ON/OFF switch circuit check 
  1. Turn ignition switch ON and check voltage between terminal "E52-8" and ground under each condition as follows.

Switch circuit specification (resistance) 
Cruise ON/OFF switch released (OFF) (1): 0 V 
Cruise ON/OFF switch pressed (ON) (1): 10 - 14 V

Are check results satisfactory? 
Cruise control lever circuits are OK. Go to Step 4.
Cruise ON/OFF switch check 
  1. Check cruise ON/OFF switch referring to CRUISE ON/OFF, SET/COAST, RESUME/ACCEL AND CANCEL SWITCHES INSPECTION .

Is switch in good condition? 
"BLK/WHT" circuit or contact coil is open or short. Replace cruise control lever.
