DTC Troubleshooting

DTC TROUBLESHOOTING CHART

Step Action Yes No
1 Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2 Go to "ENGINE AND EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK  "
2 Do you have SUZUKI scan tool?  Go to Step 3. Go to Step 4.
3 Barometric pressure check
  1. Connect SUZUKI scan tool to DLC with ignition switch turned OFF.
  2. Check barometric pressure value displayed on SUZUKI scan tool.

Is 60-110 kPa indicated?

Intermittent trouble or faulty ECM.

Check for intermittent trouble referring to "INTERMITTENT AND POOR CONNECTION INSPECTION ".

Go to Step 5.
4 Barometric pressure (EVAP leak check pressure) sensor signal check
  1. Remove ECM cover.
  2. Check for proper connection to ECM coupler at "51 -3-5", "C51-3-1" and "C51-3-10" terminals.
  3. Measure voltage between "C51 -3-1" terminal of ECM coupler and vehicle body ground with ignition switch turned ON.

Is voltage 1.35-4.24 V?

Intermittent trouble or faulty ECM.

Check for intermittent trouble referring to "INTERMITTENT AND POOR CONNECTION INSPECTION ".

Go to Step 5.
5 Barometric pressure (EVAP leak check pressure) sensor check
  1. Check EVAP leak check pressure sensor signal voltage referring to "EVAP LEAK CHECK PRESSURE SENSOR (COMBINE WITH BARO SENSOR) CHECK " under "EVAP Leak Check Module Inspection ".

Is signal voltage within specified value?

"GRY" wire, "BRN/RED" wire or "BRN/WHT" wire is open or short.

If wire and connections are OK, substitute a known-good ECM and recheck.

Replace EVAP leak check module.
