VSS CIRCUIT - DIAGNOSTIC CHART

1	Engine control module (ECM) DTC check Check DTC in ECM referring to "DTC CHECK " or "DTC CHECK ". Is DTC P0500 detected?	Go to "DTC P0500: VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR (VSS) MALFUNCTION " or "DTC P0500: VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR ".	Go to Step 2.
2	Check VSS circuit for open Disconnect VSS connector "C20" and cruise control module connector "E132" with ignition switch OFF. Check for proper connection to VSS connector at "C20-1" terminal and cruise control module connector at "E132-1" terminal. If OK, check for continuity between terminals "C20-1" and "E132-1". Is check result satisfactory?	Go to Step 3.	"BLU/YEL" circuit is open.
3	Check VSS circuit for short Check for resistance between "E132-1" terminal and body ground. Is resistance infinity?	VSS circuit is OK.	"BLU/YEL" circuit is short.
