Throttle Position (TP) Sensor On-Vehicle Inspection
- Warm up engine and stop it when its temperature has reached normal operating temperature (Make sure that they have some clearance between fast idle cam and cam follow lever.).
- Disconnect negative cable at battery and coupler from TP sensor.
- Using ohmmeter, check for resistance between terminals under each condition. If check result is not satisfactory, replace TP sensor.
TP sensor resistance
Between "1" and "3" terminals: 4 - 6 kohm
Between "2" and "3" terminals: 0 - 4.6 kohm (varying linearly according to throttle valve opening)
- Connect TP sensor coupler securely.
- Connect negative cable to battery.
