Variable Induction Control Valve: Service and Repair

VIS Valve Removal And Installation

VIS Valve Removal

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.




2. Disconnect the throttle cable by opening the throttle and moving the cable through the release slot.
3. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the VIS actuator.




4. Remove the VIS actuator and the VIS valve.

NOTE: Make sure the VIS valve flap is closed before removing the VIS valve.




VIS Valve Installation

1. Installation should follow the removal procedure in the reverse order.
2. Install the VIS valve and the VIS actuator.

Tighten:
Tighten the VIS valve retaining bolts to 10 ~ 13 N.m (89 ~ 115 lb.in).
Tighten the VIS actuator retaining bolts to 10 ~ 13 N.m (89 ~ 115 lb.in).
